CHARLOTTE MCLAVERTY

Bio

Charlotte McLaverty is an emerging Australian director who received world recognition for directing, by the age of 15. 

 

In 2019 Charlotte co-wrote and directed Dolly's Dream- an anti-bullying short film that reached over 297 Million people world-wide.  She was interviewed on all the TV networks and radio stations across Australia including 'The Project'.

 

Her work has earned multiple directing awards, including Award Award and Adstar, and she was shortlisted for Best New Talent Under 30 at both the Cannes Young Director Awards and Ciclope Craft International Festival. Charlotte won the B&T Woman in Media Award for Rising Star and was named one of Vogue Australia’s Future 60 People to Watch.

Charlotte’s first short film, Social, placed second at Tropfest Jr and has since been recognized at festivals including Flickerfest. She contributed to a documentary featuring Grace Tame, directing key scenes, and in 2025 joined the press conference for Tropfest’s relaunch alongside Australian film royalty.

Trained at 16th Street Acting Studio from age 12, Charlotte brings a deep understanding of actors to her work. She has collaborated with production companies including Austin Studios, Pixel, Palomina Productions, and Truce Films in a variety of roles.

Charlotte is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Screen Production at AFTRS, Sydney, while working at Austin Studio.
